- Studying education and teaching in the UK has greatly enhanced my skills as an educator and allowed me to question and reflect on my own educational beliefs and practices. I currently teach Geography and Politics up to Scottish Higher level (equivalent to the university entrance exam 高考). My current role requires a strong understanding of learning and teaching theories, assessment and reporting principles and curriculum development. I have continued to ensure that building positive relationships with learners remains at the centre of everything I do at St Augustine’s. I have achieved this through involvement with extracurricular activities such as taking part in Duke of Edinburgh walks and expeditions, joining canoeing club as a teacher supervisor and help running breakfast club where a small group of teachers arrive at school early to prepare and serve breakfast for students.

- Working with adult English learners and Chinese English Major students provided new experiences and enabled me to adapt my ESL teaching practices. Learners were studying for various language certificates such as IELTS and CET. The English curriculum was fully created by individual teachers demonstrating an excellent ability to design a flexible and interesting curriculum which met the needs of the learner in the class. During my time at ZhouYue I planned many outdoor learning opportunities taking full advantage of a large foreigner population in Yangshou. This included asking foreign tourists survey questions made by students and setting up role plays such as checking into hotels and conducting job interviews in order for learners to use English in useful and practical contexts.
